Congratulations to ACS Graduates across our four campuses
ACS International Schools Graduation Ceremonies across the UK and in Doha, Qatar
Students from across our four ACS International Schools celebrated their final year and academic achievements at graduation ceremonies on 1 June 2018 attended by hundreds of family members, friends and staff. At ACS Cobham, 2018 saw the largest ever graduating class in ACS's history, with 182 students completing their pre-university qualifications.
Tony Eysele, ACS Cobham Head of Schools commented:
Jeremy Lewis, Head of Schools at ACS Egham, said:
Martin Hall, Head of Schools at ACS Hillingdon said of his first graduation here:
"The ceremony was a wonderful way to celebrate this year’s graduating class. I am very proud of all their achievements and I would like to wish each student every success as they begin their new chapter. Each graduate has shown immense hard work throughout their time at ACS Hillingdon; I wish them the best of luck for the future."
And in Doha, Robert Cody's advice left a lasting message to all graduating students:
Guest Speakers at each Graduation
Guest speakers are always a key highlight of any graduation ceremony, and this year was no different. ACS Doha invited Ms. Ghada M. Darwish to inspire the class of 2018.
Ms. Ghada is a celebrated Qatari lawyer, Founder and Managing Partner of Ghada M. Darwish Law Firm, who has dedicated herself to the betterment of the lives of all in her country. Ms. Darwish first introduced herself at the ceremony, by stating that there were few people who had left a 'fingerprint' on her life to help her become who she is today - but she hoped that she could leave some small impact on the graduating class of 2018. She imparted:
"I urge you all to pursue your dreams wherever they take you, armed with your education and ready for the glorious battle of life, your journey have just began, my friends!"
The guest speaker at the graduation ceremony in ACS Egham was Dorothy Dix, Founder of Creating Better Futures; a charity that provides support to orphans and vulnerable children in Africa. Her speech covered her experience as an IB graduate herself and how it gave her to skills to strive for things she never thought possible, and to become a life changer in future careers.
Rachel Yankey, OBE, spoke to the graduating students at ACS Cobham, she played 129 times for England womens football team.
At ACS Hillingdon, the guest speaker at the graduation ceremony was Bonita Norris, the youngest woman to scale Mount Everest at 22 years old. Bonita talked about the challenges she faced climbing Everest, including securing funding and the physical effort and focus needed to reach the summit. She encouraged all students to keep striving for their dreams despite the obstacles they may face in the future.
The Founders' Awards 2018
In 2008 ACS inaugurated the annual Founders' Award for students, which recognises academic achievement, contribution to school life, service to others, and exceptional leadership.
