Welcome from our Chief Executive, Tim Cagney
I would like to update you about some areas of progress we have made so far this year, the 50th Anniversary of ACS International Schools and outline areas where we are keen to make progress in the coming months as ACS continues to grow and develop.
The 5th July 2017 marked the start of ACS’ Golden Anniversary year making us one of the oldest international schools in the UK. The 50th Anniversary provided the perfect opportunity for ACS to engage our global community of students and parents, alumni and friends in our journey from 1967 to today as the third oldest international school in the UK. It enabled us to reflect on how ACS has endured economic, societal and geographical changes from small beginnings to a truly international school of 3,500 students from 100 nationalities.
Firstly, I am delighted to announce that we are now a UK registered charity, an important milestone in the culmination of our Founder’s wishes that ACS be owned in perpetuity by a charitable entity. We hope you are looking forward to being part of an exciting new chapter in the history of ACS.
We are also delighted to launch ACS International Schools in America Inc. our New York-based 501 (c)3 non-profit organisation that supports the work of ACS around the world. ACS' mission is to widen access to and promote our unique international education to benefit more students.
This is a very exciting time for ACS International Schools and I want to thank you for your ongoing support and commitment. I look forward to the coming year and ACS' achievements and many more after.
