Our students have kept us entertained with some big productions in the first semester.
The Middle School cast of A Midsummer Night's Dream gave two showcase performances to Lower and Middle School students. They went on to perform at Leatherhead Theatre, where they presented their play at the Shakespeare Schools' Festival.
Ben Vardy from Shakespeare Schools Festival said: “I was very impressed by your ensemble work; you worked together seamlessly, using your vocal and physical skills to create a wide range of locations, settings and atmospheres, all of which added to the telling of your story.
“This was an enchanting, ultra-modern and utterly hilarious production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and I think you should all be extremely proud of what you have achieved together. Congratulations!"
We were delighted to welcome a group of talented students from a specialist performing arts school in Bandung, West Java.
Organised by Simon Cook, a Middle School music teacher, and supported by our school's artist-in-residence programme, the guests ran workshops and shared classes with students from each of our divisions, before giving a final performance.
Our High School students performed Grimm Tales. Adapted by Carol Ann Duffy, the piece is a darkly entertaining presentation of some of the Grimm brothers' famous tales.
