Transforming learning spaces
This year marks a major milestone in the evolution of ACS Cobham, with the completion of the Lower School Village refurbishment and the much-anticipated relaunch of Heywood House. For the first time in 20 years, this historic manor house has been brought back into use as a teaching space, seamlessly blending heritage with modern learning environments.
The newly redeveloped Lower School Village now provides dedicated classrooms for all year groups, alongside specialist learning spaces such as the Discovery Centre, the Hive digital learning space, art and science rooms, and dedicated playgrounds. Surrounded by the school's stunning woodland, the Forest School offers an immersive outdoor learning experience, enriching students' connection with nature. Together, these facilities create an inspiring and dynamic learning environment within our 128-acre campus.
Meanwhile, our Ready to Thrive initiative, designed to bring together all Senior student support services - including university and college counselling - into one dedicated space, is also making great strides. A prototype space is already in place, and the full transformation of this essential High School area is set for completion this summer. This initiative ensures that students have the best possible guidance and resources to support their academic and personal growth.
Middle School students have also moved into a brand-new building, designed to foster collaboration and innovation. With its own Discovery Centre and a forward-thinking digital and collaboration space, the new facility is set to become a hub for creativity and inquiry.
A particular focus of this development is the advancement of STEAM subjects - Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Maths - preparing students for a future shaped by rapid technological progress and creative problem-solving. With cutting-edge facilities and a curriculum designed for the modern world, ACS Cobham Middle School is now better equipped than ever to inspire the next generation of thinkers, innovators, and leaders.
