Celebrating the Class of 2023!
On Friday 31 May, students gathered with their loved ones, faculty, and staff to commemorate the conclusion of their final year and the fulfilment of their academic pursuits.
The ACS Egham Class of 2023 had a fantastic celebration to mark their graduation. On Friday 31 May, students gathered with their loved ones, faculty, and staff to commemorate the conclusion of their final year and the fulfilment of their academic pursuits.
A total of sixty-one students, representing twenty-seven nationalities, successfully completed their rigorous academic programmes as they undertook the renowned International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. A comprehensive qualification recognised worldwide, the programme helps pave the way for their future higher education at universities and workplaces across the globe.
We welcomed more than 200 guests of our graduating families to the campus to begin celebrations at our reception, with delicious canapés, refreshing beverages and an atmosphere of immense pride. A fantastic opportunity for families and friends to come together, share stories and acknowledge the incredible achievements that have been made.
In addition to the presentation of the High School diplomas, the graduation ceremony held various accolades to acknowledge the exceptional accomplishments of the students during their time at ACS Egham. Daniel Trigueiro earned both the Valedictorian Award, given in recognition of outstanding academic achievement, and the ECIS Award for International Understanding.
The Founders’ Award
The Founders’ Award was presented to Joshua Andrews for demonstrating excellent academic achievement, consistent involvement in extra-curricular activities, as well as service to others and school leadership. Joshua has earned the honour of having his name displayed in the Mansion House to recognise the award.
The Leadership Award
The Leadership Award was received by Veera Gupta for their leadership and support given to the rest of their grade. This award identifies the recipient as a student who takes initiative and sees ideas through to fruition. They are a responsible individual who offers assistance regularly, has a positive attitude towards challenge and is able to generate creative solutions to problems.
As we sit, we look back and forward, there is so much to be proud of. This is a milestone moment. It ends formal education, it celebrates over 14 years of classes, homework, tests, experiments, projects, presentations, performances. The receiving of your High School Diploma is a legal document, and it says to the world ‘I did it! I finished school, and I’m proud of what I achieved.’ Your friends, families, and teachers, they share this pride with you, and they are all proud of you..
Students, I want to extend to you my heartfelt congratulations. It’s been quite the journey. To each and every one of you, you’ve done an amazing job. Today we witness the fruits of your labour. The result of countless hours of studying, writing papers, conducting experiments, engaging in discussions. Your commitment to your academic excellence has led you to this remarkable place, and you should be immensely proud of yourselves – we are immensely proud of you.
Our Class of 2023 leave us as independent learners, who think analytically and creatively. We wish all our graduating class the best in their future journey as they go on to be, and inspire, the world's next global future thinkers and doers. And of course, once a Jaguar, always a Jaguar.
