Our Charitable Status Shapes the Future of ACS Egham
Among ACS Egham’s vibrant, international community – home to over 60 nationalities– there’s one important detail that isn’t widely known: ACS Egham is a UK-registered charity.
This status, granted in 2018 in line with the wishes of our late co-founder, Mr Manos Poularas, reflects a deep commitment to protecting the distinctive ACS educational experience and the beautiful campus we call home. Mr Poularas believed in safeguarding ACS Egham’s values and ensuring that our school could continue to flourish for future generations.
Education with Purpose
In the UK, many leading independent schools operate as charities. At ACS Egham, this structure ensures that every pound invested directly supports our mission: to provide an outstanding, internationally-minded education and to expand opportunities for all students.
This charitable status enables us to go beyond what tuition fees alone can fund –building inspirational learning spaces, investing in teaching innovation, and extending access through bursaries and scholarships. It also underpins our thriving ACS Partnerships programme, which connects our school with local state schools and wider community initiatives.
Philanthropy in Action
The generosity of our parent community plays a vital role in turning vision into reality. This academic year, we have been able to invest in five new science labs, which opened last year, providing flexible and collaborative spaces for Upper School students, fostering hands-on learning. These exceptional facilities would not have been possible through school fee income alone.
School fees are essential to day-to-day operations, but it’s philanthropy that fuels innovation, excellence, and long-term impact. Donations of all sizes – along with gifts of time, expertise, or resources – enable us to enhance the ACS experience not only for your child, but for generations to come.
By contributing, you’re helping create a legacy: one that supports student growth, strengthens our community, and ensures that ACS Egham remains a place of inspiration, inclusion, and opportunity.
