Graduating Class of 2023
ACS Hillingdon’s class of 2023 took the stage on Friday 2 June to celebrate their academic achievements and mark this highly significant milestone for them and us as a school.
The class of 2023 are an exceptional group of students who are capable, interested and involved in the world around them, focussed and ready to make an impact on the world. As is typical in our school, this group contains students from a wide range of nationalities, and backgrounds.
A total of 60 students, representing 33 nationalities, successfully completed their rigorous academic programmes as they undertook the renowned International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. A comprehensive qualification recognised worldwide, the programme helps pave the way for their future higher education at universities and workplaces across the globe.
Over 200 guests came together including families, friends, and faculty staff to celebrate. Guests soaked up the sun on our beautiful campus grounds where they enjoyed a welcome drinks reception and delicious canapés. They took the time to meet with each other and share stories and memories of their time at ACS Hillingdon.
The graduation ceremony welcomed our guest speaker Ms Stephané Alexandre. An award-winning filmmaker with a passion for diversity and inclusion, who believes that “perfect girls aren’t real, and real girls aren’t perfect.” Stephané Alexandre is a filmmaker who for the last 15 years has worked across Film, TV and digital. She gave an inspirational address to our students and audience.
In addition to the presentation of the High School diplomas, the graduation ceremony held various accolades to acknowledge the exceptional accomplishments of the students during their time at ACS Hillingdon. Rhea Aggarwal received the ECIS Award for international understanding. She is a great ambassador for her country, has a positive attitude in all she does, and this shines through in the influence she has across her peers, bringing people and cultures together. She really epitomises a sense of community and an integral value that underpins life at Hillingdon.
Ayla Kruse Lawson earned the Valedictorian Award in recognition of outstanding academic achievement and represents the highest standards of planning, diligence and commitment in all studies.
Réneh Nanda received the Salutatorian Award being the second highest performing graduate in recognition of outstanding academic achievement.
Yugo Senda was presented with the Founders’ Award for demonstrating excellent academic achievement, consistent involvement in extra-curricular activities, school life, service to others, and school leadership. In receiving this his name will be displayed on a glass plaque on the wall of the school reception area.
Principals Award
Beau Sansoni and Olmo Cuaron were both presented with the Principals Award as students, for embracing the ACS values and embody the ACS Learning Outcomes: Effective Learners, Confident Individuals and Caring Contributors.
Excellence in Arts Award
Eleanor Garner received the Excellence in Arts Award in recognition for making an outstanding contribution to the artistic life of our school. Eleanor possesses a high level of skill, dedication and understanding in creative arts.
Excellence in Sports Award
Arwen Graham received the Excellence in Sports Award for making an outstanding contribution to the sporting life of our school. Arwen has shown leadership within sports at the school and consistently shows a fair and competitive sporting spirit.
Excellence in Service Award
Diksha Kotian was presented with Excellence in Service Award for excelling in an area of Service by raising awareness within the community about the plight of others, showing qualities of leadership in carrying out charitable deeds, being actively involved in helping others, giving freely of their time to assist those less fortunate than themselves, showing empathy towards others.
Merit Award
The Merit Award was presented to Salma Ahmed Essam Abo Shelbaya for demonstrating how their experiences in a multicultural, international environment has shaped the person they are today and their perspective of the world and future plans.
We are so proud of you! As you move onto the next exciting stage in your lives, I know that you are more than ready to make an impact on the world. You should feel confident in your knowledge and capabilities; also be humble about what you have yet to learn. Above all, be kind and considerate towards others. We wish you the very best in all that is to come and hope that you’ll take away wonderful memories of your schooling at ACS Hillingdon.
