As part of our ongoing campus development plan and the first phase of Project Shine, ACS Hillingdon has made remarkable progress in expanding our sports and activities facilities. Our brand-new Sports and Activities Centre is now open, doubling our sports hall capacity and providing students with state-of-the-art spaces for physical education, training, and competitive sports.
The new centre features a spacious sports hall, a dedicated fitness suite, and a specialist coaching area, offering enhanced opportunities for both recreational and elite sports. Designed with sustainability in mind, the building aligns with the London Plan for net-zero carbon new developments. Key eco-friendly features include 190m² of solar panels, an air source heat pump, natural ventilation, mineral wool roof insulation, and a striking external living wall.
Already a thriving hub for students and athletes, the centre is just the beginning. As we move into the final phase of Project Shine, plans are in place to refurbish our original sports hall with modern bleachers, upgraded flooring, and improved lighting. These enhancements will create an even better experience for students, spectators, and visiting teams.
Additionally, our Elite Sports Programme which provides specialist coaching and training support for students with exceptional sporting potential is now in full swing. With our expanded facilities, ACS Hillingdon is well positioned to nurture the next generation of sporting talent. We can't wait to see Project Shine fully come to life!
