Mark Wilson will succeed Jeremy Lewis
ACS Egham has announced that Mark Wilson will take up the position of Head of School from August 2022.
Mark has over two decades of leadership experience in British and international education at top International Baccalaureate (IB) schools across Asia and the US. He will be coming to the school from his current position as Head of School at the British International School Houston, Texas. Prior to this role, Mark was headteacher at The British International School Shanghai.
ACS Egham has been offering the IB curriculum, which is world-renowned for academic excellence, for over 20 years and is one of only two schools in the UK to offer the entire IB programme. Mark will drive this legacy forward with his experience delivering an IB education to the highest standard; his current school received a 100% IB Diploma Programme (DP) pass rate in its most recent results.
His teaching background is rooted in Drama and the Arts, and he holds a BA (Hons) Degree in Drama/Dance and a PGCE teaching qualification in Education (Drama) from Middlesex University. He has also provided guidance as an educational leadership trainer, consultant, and guest speaker for a variety of organisations, including PGCE Teacher Training Programmes at Middlesex University and the Royal Academy of Dance.
I am absolutely delighted to be joining ACS Egham as its new Head of School in August. Throughout my career, I have seen how students can thrive when given the best opportunities. My goal is to ensure that we stay relentlessly focused on nurturing effective learners, confident individuals and caring contributors who know how to make a positive difference in the world.
Passionate about partnerships and preparing students for future careers, Mark will drive further partnerships between ACS Egham and local, business and international communities. He hopes that these links will provide unrivalled opportunities for students, such as charity work and internships, ensuring they develop as caring and engaged global citizens.
